Luke was interested for a while but, as always, was more interested in playing with sticks and running around with Talmage and Jackson. That's just fine with me (except when the sticks get to eye level).

Maple tree, maple tree
After reading several chapters about maple sugaring in the little house books we were well poised to go ourselves. A community garden was putting on a little event (my friend Lisa found out about it and told us-- she's got her finger on the pulse of Madison). It was very cute-- singing, outdoor crafts and games, stories, and a tree tapping.
Luke was interested for a while but, as always, was more interested in playing with sticks and running around with Talmage and Jackson. That's just fine with me (except when the sticks get to eye level).
