Happy Birthday Adelaide!

So last Saturday was Addie's first birthday. We had a little party for her at Sandra's house. Here she is opening presents. She just woke up from a nap in these pictures, so that's why she's making the same face in every picture...

She really loves this doll. She gives the baby hugs and kisses all day long- interspersed with her violent outbursts. We're still thinking of a name. Any suggestions?

Adelaide was not sure about the cake. We had to convince her to try it.

Then she started getting into it. Don't worry though- she was a perfect little lady. She took these dainty little bites and didn't even get messy. Who does that?

We were glad to have cousins there too. (Eliza has the cutest shy smile.)

Sunday was her birthday and her aunt Eliza insisted on letting her try a lemon.

Mom, she loved the fruit leather you sent. Luckily, the juice came right out of her pajamas.

Happy birthday baby girl. Love you.

And now for your viewing pleasure I present Addie and the cake: (As usual, you'll have to turn it down. Sorry- I'm loud.)

Almost There...

Addie will be a year old on Sunday. Sometimes I still can't believe I'm a mom. Especially to this little one. This morning I was saying a prayer over breakfast and I peeked (what? you do it too) and I saw her clasp her tiny hands together and put her head down. She was looking at me through her eyelashes. It lasted probably five seconds, but it made my heart squeeze. One year down, eternity to go... Am I lucky or what?

(Thanks to Whitney Fredin for taking this beautiful picture.)

No, Really Guys- How Did This Happen?

You may remember Adelaide's amazing ability to tangle herself up in whatever clothes she happens to be wearing when I put her down for a nap. She did it again...

Again I ask the question: am I a bad mom for getting out the camera instead of helping my struggling (and obviously upset) 11 month old? But more importantly: could any of YOU do this in your sleep?

Star Wars Books and a Couple of Ewoks

We start them early in this family. Here are a few older pictures (I still have to get the CA ones off my camera. Leave me alone, we've been sick at my house...) of Luke and Noah showing Addie the wonders of the Star Wars galaxy. She looks interested, no?

And continuing on the theme...how about these two little Ewoks?
