Jane Austin "ACTION FIGURE"

This is going to be a bunch of odds and ends.

So......I was in Milwaukee this weekend for a friend's wedding. Jack and I walked by a book store (it was closed or I would have gone in...of course!!) and I saw the Jane Austen Action Figure ("with Writing desk & quill pen") in the window right next to the William Shakespeare Action figure....

I found it amusing!

Also a picture of Jack and Murph passed out on a pleasant Sunday Afternoon.

And last but not least....the pup's mug...You can just see the trouble in his eyes! I love the tongue always sticking out! He just looks somehow "askew"!

Unrelated. I've found a picture that Im dying to purchase from all posters or art.com but its unavailable. Hannah Gluck is the artist and its titled "clover field." Her work is very whimsical. I find it fascinating, however, that she isn't contemporary. I believe she is from the 20's (I think).

One more obsession of mine...which is actually a pretty natural affiliation. I've been DVR-ing the History Channel. Band of Brothers, Ancient Wonders (or something of that name) (of which they showed the Temple Mount and explained all that....I kept it for Emily....) and I just found one on Ancient Rome. I don't watch that much TV but when I do, instead of HGTV, which was my old mainstay...its now History Channel. Its become kind of an obsession for me.

Adios! Til next time

"I want mommy to get out"

Two Peas in a Pod

These were the last words that I heard out of my son's mouth tonight at bedtime. He and his dad have gotten quite close lately and whenever I walk into the room while they are playing Luke screams something like, "No, mom we need our privacy." I think that he thinks I am going to make him or his dad do something around the house. I am officially the household nag. I am working to change that image. There are some things that are nice about it though. If Luke ever wakes up in the night he calls out for his dad. So, I get a few months free of night time parenting before I have a newborn that wakes me up every 45 minutes to eat. Oh, the joys of parenting.

falling asleep on your corn

You know Luke must have been really tired to fall asleep eating his favorite food on earth.

dinner

Check out these purple potatoes. They came from our vegatable box. They were tasty! We made a roast with carrots, potatoes and onions for dinner last night. There was also corn on the cob and european spring mix salad complete with plenty of arugula-- my new favorite green. The bounty of summer will soon be a distant and delicious memory. So eat up now while the produce is fresh!

Busy, Busy, Busy

hi everyone. i know it's been a while since i've posted, or even been on the blog, but i just wanted to give everyone an update on the lives of Ashley and Caleb. a couple of weeks ago, we went over to Emily's house and made me two tablecloths and watched a B sci fi movie. here's the tablecloth that's on my table now. i lit the candles to set the mood. (there Em, i finally posted it.)

This past weekend, Caleb and i also watched come kids at a wedding up in Park City. the family gave us a hotel room and everything. it was fun, but exhausting. can't you tell by the look on Caleb's face?

On Wednesday, Caleb got a bunch of his friends together and we all went to Lagoon. Since it was his "birthday party" (his birthday was in July) he decided he wanted me to go with him on this huge slingshot ride called the Catapult. they strap you in and basically shoot you up in the air. i was terrified, but we did it. i screamed so loud that i lost my voice. it was such a rush.

before...

after...
well, there you have it. we're busy. tonight we're going hiking up American Fork Canyon with some friends. we'll let you know how it turns out.
