Sunny Saturday

We are finally starting to thaw out here. The weather was wonderful today. We went to a birthday party this morning for one of Luke's little friends and when we came out the sun was so inviting we decided to skip naps and take a walk in the sun. The Chariot, our bike trailer/jogging/walking/sking stroller, took its maiden voyage with both the boys in it. It did great. Noah seemed to enjoy it. I am sure that this is the first of many two-boyed trips around the 'hood. We walked to the library and then stopped by the french bakery for treats. I love where we live. Sun, books, and pastries-- what more could you ask for?

Luke played in the melting snow on the way to the library. For some reason, Luke has always loved sticks. He almost always carries one when we go for a walk. Today he used it to beat at the snow piles we encountered along the way. What would we do without him to defend us against the encroaching snowmen?

Here is Noah in the chariot for the first time. I love the way that the boys look like royalty sitting upright in the little chassis. Noah has a little infant sling that he sits in for extra support. This adds to our desire to address him as "your royal majesty".

Once we were tired of walking really, really slowly and nagging Luke to catch up (he has to examine everything as we walk along) we put Luke in with Noah. The first thing that Luke did was reach over and grab his brother's hand. They always hold hands when they are close enough. Noah loves to hold hands.

Here is a closeup of their sweet little hands. You can see how dirty Luke's paws are. At first sight I cringe at the thought of germs on Noah's hands. But, the sentiment is much sweeter than the germs are dangerous.

Here are my boys!
