Our week in pictures... so far

Luke has had a rather creative week. He has been really entertaining himself well with simple materials. His imagination runs wild these days. It is hard to keep up with who he is at any given time. He's either Thomas, Diego, an animal of some sort, or Lightning McQueen. It's always wise to check before you address him.

I gave him a bag of ribbon to play with while we ran errands in the car. He got all tangled up in it and loved it. While we were driving along we pulled up at a stoplight and the woman in the car next to us started trying to get my attention. I rolled the window down and she said, "He's got that ribbon all unraveled." I thought to myself, "that's the point lady-- it's kept him busy for a whole 20 minutes." I just thanked her for telling me and drove off. She must not have kids.

We have been talking a lot about letters this week. He came to me with this necklace all strung and said, "mom, I made my name!" He found all the letters by himself. Maybe we'll work on the order next week.

Do you remember the days of fort building when we were kids? I am sure mom does. Why is it that the couch cushions make the best forts? Luke made a playground with the cushions and pillows and then built "sand castles" at the playground.

Luke got a very thoughtful care package from his cousins and grandma (when mom was here she taught Luke to chew gum and has since kept up his supply of pink gum). His cousins made him this "feel better" crown. He loves getting mail and has had a great time with everything in it. He's going to want to break his arm more often if all this attention keeps up. Thanks cousins, aunt, uncle and Grandma!

It's easy to forget that his wrist is broken. It hasn't slowed him down at all.

Noah is also working on a few of his own tricks. He is getting quite adept at scooting around. He gets up on his arms and army crawls all around the rug. He makes little grunting noises while he moves.

We have given him rice cereal one more time since his introduction. He really likes eating and gets excited. It could be coincidence but he seems to sleep worse when he eats before bed. He also has gotten into a pattern of having a big diaper at about four in the morning. Good timing huh?
